The manufacturer

Ballerina-Küchen – German kitchen manufacturer since 1978

Ballerina was founded in 1978 in Rödinghausen in north-west Germany and is still run by the Ellersiek family. The factory combines a tradition of craftsmanship with fully automated production – and has received awards from both German kitchen retailers and the German Design Council, Rat für Formgebung.

01The carcass

Built for generations

19 mm thick shelves, an 8 mm screwed back panel and moisture-resistant PUR edge banding. 26 carcass colours – the same colour inside as outside, or a deliberate contrast.

02The drawers

Legrabox as standard

Slim drawers from Blum with Blumotion soft close in all drawers and pull-outs. Also available with glass sides or veneer, and in any width between 31 and 119 cm.

Lacquer, wood and glass

Matt lacquer in twelve steps, high gloss in eight layers, real veneer and solid wood, glass, FENIX and hard-wearing high-pressure laminates – plus special colours from RAL and Sikkens.

04The dimensions

Planned to the centimetre

Two carcass heights, tall cabinets up to 233.8 cm and cabinets that can be adapted in width and depth – for the same fit as a bespoke kitchen. There is also a deeper 61 cm carcass for a larger work surface and more storage.

The handleless GL line with grip rails in metal or colour, or a wide handle collection – from discreet knobs to statement bow handles.

06Hygiene

Antibacterial surfaces

The carcass decors and a large number of laminate and melamine fronts have antibacterial surface properties as standard – easy to keep clean in everyday life.

Who makes the Atelier Collection kitchens?

Atelier Collection is made by Ballerina-Küchen, a family-owned kitchen manufacturer in Rödinghausen in north-west Germany. The factory was founded in 1978, is still run by the Ellersiek family and makes around 30,000 kitchens a year.

How much does an Atelier Collection kitchen cost?

The price is mainly determined by the size of the kitchen and the materials you choose – a matt lacquered front, for example, costs less than real veneer in a herringbone pattern. After a free consultation you receive a design proposal and a quote based on your room and your choices.

Can I have the fronts in any colour?

Essentially, yes. In addition to Ballerina's own lacquer palette, the lacquered fronts can be ordered in over 4,100 colours from RAL and Sikkens. The carcass also comes in 26 colours, so the kitchen can have the same colour inside as outside.

What is Legrabox?

Legrabox is Blum's drawer system with slim, straight sides and soft closing with Blumotion. In Atelier Collection, Legrabox is standard in all drawers and pull-outs, and the sides are also available in glass or veneer.

Are herringbone and fluted fronts available?

Yes. The signature fronts include herringbone in real oak and walnut veneer, fluted veneer fronts in several colours, metal patina and mirror glass. We're happy to show you the full range at a consultation.

How do I order an Atelier kitchen?

We start with a free consultation in our studio at Tomtebogatan 16 or online. We then design the kitchen and show it in 3D, choose materials and details together and prepare a quote. Once you have approved it, we order the kitchen, check the order and coordinate the delivery.

What sets Atelier Collection apart from Core Collection?

Both lines are made in Germany and designed by us around your room. Atelier Collection has a larger range with over 700 fronts, lacquer in any colour, real wood veneer, glass and Legrabox as standard. Core Collection is a curated selection in four series for those who want high quality with clear choices.
